Riedel
Create a new packaging structure using four to six breakable glasses. Be considerate of the packaging material used in the structure, particularly how much material is needed to protect the glass. If choosing an existing brand, consider how to reduce the current material through new packaging design. The structural package needs to stack on a 48”by 48” block pallet. The Riedel company is a 250 year success story. While typically focusing on glasses with characteristics to enhance different types of wines, a proposed everyday, sleek glassware would be able to offer its line of products to a modern, more cost conscious target market. Familiarizing myself with the buyer experience, I designed the package so that the glassware can be experienced before purchase. The buyer is able to physically examine the glass without tampering with it’s packaging. Each package was thoughtfully created with one piece of cardboard in order to achieve sustainability in production.
